Time Reminders

Time Reminders help employees log their time consistently and submit their timesheets for approval on time. Administrators can set up recurring reminders to be sent automatically to everyone in the organization, to members of a specific group, or to a specific employee. Reminder settings are available in Settings > Reminders ↗.

Reminder Types

Metric AI allows the following types of reminders:

  • Missing Hours
    Reminds employees to log their time if they have recorded fewer hours than their capacity. These reminders can be sent daily, weekly, or monthly to users who have logged less time than their capacity.

  • Timesheet Submission
    Reminds employees to submit their timesheets if they have not yet submitted them. These reminders can be sent weekly or monthly to users with unsubmitted timesheets.

  • Timesheet Review
    Reminds managers to review submitted timesheets if there are timesheets pending review. These reminders can be sent weekly or monthly to managers whose assigned users have timesheets in Submitted, Draft, or Rejected status.


How to Enable Time Reminders

Permissions required:

  • View Organization Reminders
  • Edit Organization Reminders

Steps to Add a New Reminder

  1. Navigate to Settings ↗ from the left-side menu.
  2. Open Reminders ↗.
  3. Click the + NEW REMINDER button.
  4. Select a reminder type:
    • Missing Hours
    • Timesheet Submission
    • Timesheet Review
  5. Click Customize if you need to modify the reminder message.
  6. Select the recipients:
    • Entire organization
    • Specific group
    • Specific employee
  7. Configure periodicity, day, time, and time zone.
  8. (Optional) Enter a description for the reminder. This description will only appear in the reminders list, not in the notifications sent to employees.

How to Disable Time Reminders

Permissions required:

  • View Organization Reminders
  • Edit Organization Reminders

Steps to Remove a Reminder

  1. Navigate to Settings ↗ from the left-side menu.
  2. Open Reminders ↗.
  3. Click the pencil icon next to the reminder you want to remove.
  4. Click the Delete button.

This will stop the reminder from being sent.
